Watering: Water dogwood twice a week. Sun: Dogwoods like a few hours of full sun and afternoon shade. Pruning: Dogwood require little pruning. You can prune them in late winter; remove any dead or broken branches.

Plant dogwood in the Spring, in moist, well drained, slightly acidic soil. Dig a hole three time the width to allow for root expansion, and equal depth. Water the soil before placing dogwood into the ground. Place dogwood into the ground and fill hole back with the soil.

During fall and winter Dogwoods will enter its dormant state. During this time the leaves will fall off and the stem will turn brown. The roots of your Dogwood will continue to grow during this time.

Dogwoods have very dense, fast growing roots systems. This requires more care when keeping in a pot/container. They need well drained soil and lots of water for the first few years. Select a container that is at least twice the size of the Dogwood. You can add a layer of mulch to the top to help retain moisture.

I received Dogwood Memorial Gift in honor of my dad's passing from my work team. I was very touched by their thoughtfulness. However, I was disappointed when I open the box to find the tree was too tall for the packing box and the top 12 inches had been broken off. I reached out via email to Seeds of Life including a picture of the broken tree. I was advised that the tree look otherwise healthy and I should proceed with planting. I was offered a memorial cross which I accepted for the issue. The tree has been planted now for a couple of weeks. The heat here in NC has taken its toll on the plant but we are keeping it watered and we are trusting it will survive. I find your product offering to be excellent and I've found your team to be responsive. However I must admit my disappointment when I open a gift in memorial to my dad that was damaged. I would suggest using the appropriate sized box for shipping to avoid this issue in the future.

Good thought poor execution

Sent a tree to the family of my sisters best friend. Tree arrived in very poor condition and several messages were left with the company and not returned. I have a family member that received a tree from this company and it was beautiful so I know the product. I would not have said anything if the customer service was better. I understand there are shipping delays but it took calling the company three times before anyone responded.

I ordered a dogwood at the first part of May knowing that they started shipping in May. However, website says shipping within 3 to 5 business days. After three business days I had not received information. I sent and email and was informed that it would not ship until May 29th. This meant a wait of more than three weeks which is not acceptable and is against your shipping information. It was eventually corrected and was shipped timely, but it took a complaint from me. Overall things worked out, but I don't think I will use your company again.

We are thankful for your order and your feedback so we can learn how to serve our clients better in the future.We start shipping many of the different spring orders starting in mid-April through the end of May. Out of all of the different gift trees that we grow, the dogwoods take a longer time to develop a root system full enough for shipping. To make sure the gift recipient receives a tree that can thrive upon arrival is why we like to wait until the end of May to ship out the dogwoods�. Their roots just take a little extra time. I think in the future we could customize the dogwood purchase on the website and with the custom pre-book tree card to state a more exact shipping date towards the end of May.Again, I am sorry for any confusion this caused and we appreciate your business.Sincerely,Matt Roth
