Care Information
General Care
Watering: Water your bougainvillea as needed to keep the soil consistently moistened. Sun: Bougainvillea do best in a location with full sun. Pruning: Pruning should be done in late fall to early winter. You can do light trimming to maintain a certain shape.
Planting Guidelines
When planting into the ground select an area that receives 6 hours of full sun. Make sure your drainage is good. Make your hole 2-3 times the width and just as deep as the root system. Carefully remove the bougainvillea from the container and lightly comb the roots to loosen them. Place plant in hole and add soil and water.
Winter Care
If potted move to a warmer area. Avoid feeding or overwatering during the cold season. If in the ground add organic matter to add protection.
Potting & Container
Select a pot that is 1-2 times bigger than the container it arrived in. Ensure that there are drainage holes underneath. Use a potting soil that is more acidic and add some to the bottom of the container. Transfer plant and add more soil and water.
